Author’s Story

H. Dale Lloyd was born in Napanee, Ontario, in 1949—the tenth and final child of a Mohawk mother and a United Empire Loyalist father – caught between two cultures. His early years were shaped by poverty, resilience, and the quiet strength learned in small places.

Born oxygen-deprived and slow to breathe, he entered life already acquainted with struggle. That beginning became a kind of metaphor—one that taught him patience, humility, and attentiveness to the unseen currents shaping a life.

Across decades of ministry and writing, Dale has come to see faith not as certainty, but as trust; not as escape from the human condition, but as a way of inhabiting it honestly and with hope. His work reflects a lifelong attentiveness to grace, memory, and redemption—often found in ordinary lives, quiet faithfulness, and stories that refuse to be forgotten.
